Privacy Policy

Security and Privacy

Version 1.0.0

Effective July 18, 2022

The Loan Advisors LLC (NMLS #2428996) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’ve written it in plain language, the same way we approach everything else.

1. Information We Collect

When you work with us or visit our website, we may collect:

  • Identity information: name, date of birth, Social Security number, government ID details
  • Contact information: address, phone number, email
  • Financial information: income, assets, debts, employment history, credit history
  • Property information: details about the home you’re financing or refinancing
  • Website usage information: pages visited, device type, browser, general location, collected through cookies and similar technologies

We collect this directly from you, from consumer reporting agencies, and from third parties involved in your loan (such as your employer for verification purposes or a title company).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Evaluate and process your loan application
  • Verify your identity, income, employment, and creditworthiness
  • Communicate with you about your loan and our services
  • Meet legal, regulatory, and investor requirements
  • Improve our website and services
  • Send you information you’ve requested, including rate updates or educational content, if you’ve opted in

3. How We Share Your Information

As a mortgage company, we share information as needed to originate and service your loan. This includes:

  • Service providers who support the loan process, such as appraisers, underwriters, title companies, and closing agents
  • Lenders and investors within our network of over 120 lending partners, in order to match you with loan options
  • Credit bureaus and verification services, to confirm the information on your application
  • Regulators and government agencies, when required by law
  • Affiliates, only as permitted by law and this policy

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Because we’re a licensed mortgage company, our information-sharing practices are also governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which limits how nonpublic personal information can be shared and requires that we tell you about our practices. Nothing in this policy changes those protections.

4. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state privacy laws, which can include the right to:

  • Know what personal information we’ve collected about you
  • Request a copy of that information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to legal and contractual exceptions (for example, we’re required to retain loan records for a set number of years)
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We’ll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

5. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These include encryption, access controls, and staff training on data handling. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute protection, but we work to minimize risk at every step.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use our site and to improve your experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Turning off cookies may affect how parts of the site function.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal and loan file information for as long as required by federal and state law and investor requirements, which is typically several years after your loan closes or your application is withdrawn. After that period, we securely dispose of the information.

8. Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party sites we don’t control, including lender and partner sites. This policy doesn’t apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

9. Children's Policy

Our services are intended for adults seeking mortgage financing. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our website isn’t directed at children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We’ll post the revised version here with a new effective date. We encourage you to check back periodically.
